And then there were 5...

There were tears aplenty in the Swain household yesterday morning after the postman knocked on the door and I signed for a very special early Christmas present. Happy tears of course! The paperbacks of Sleigh Rides and Silver at the Christmas Fair had landed and if the response they received on social media is anything to go by, you guys love them just as much as I do! I know you've all seen them now, but I simply can't resist sharing a pic or three here as well.

This latest addition to the collection fits in a treat and it's amazing to think that this year three titles have been added to the paperback list! Having gazed at them for more time than is probably entirely necessary, I still can't pick a favourite. I love them all. Massive thanks to Pip Watkins and the entire Books and The City Team for designing covers which encapsulate the essence of the books so beautifully.

Here's a quick reminder of what this year's festive trip to Wynbridge is all about...

When Anna takes on the role of companion to the owner of Wynthorpe Hall, on the outskirts of Wynbridge, she has no idea that her life is set to change beyond all recognition.

A confirmed ‘bah humbug’ when it comes to Christmas, Anna is amazed to find herself quickly immersed in the eccentric household, and when youngest son Jamie unexpectedly arrives home it soon becomes obvious that her personal feelings are going all out to compromise her professional persona.

Jamie, struggling to come to terms with life back in the Fens, makes a pact with Anna – she has to teach him to fall back in love with Wynthorpe Hall, while he helps her fall back in love with Christmas. But will it all prove too much for Anna, or can the family of Wynthorpe Hall warm her heart once and for all...?

Join Anna for a festive journey that is festooned with sleigh rides and silver bells and help her discover her happy ever after.

Publication day is October 5th

Writing a Christmas title had been a long held ambition of mine so having had the opportunity to write two feels like more than a dream come true. I hope you enjoy this year's book every bit as much as the first!

  2. I am definitely going to get those Christmas stories!

Heidi, I have just finished reading 'Coming Home to Cuckoo Cottage' this morning. OMG, I LOVED it! As I got further into it, I was equally intrigued and furious with Lottie, I wanted to climb into the pages and give her a slap and tell her to open her eyes! That isn't a criticism, it's just to let you know just how gripped I was by the story (am trying to be careful so I don't blab the plot and spoil it for anyone who is just starting the book!). I've been reading as quickly as possible to get to the end, just so I could find out what happened. Right there is how I know when a book is good. I want to find out what happens, but am sad that I'm getting to the end.
Let me just say, the ending... Yes! ;o)

Loved it. I am actively searching our your books from now on. Thank you.
Oh, and I'm in Suffolk, so may be a teensy bit biased towards them for the East Anglia connection!
    Have a lovely Sunday x
